5 things for smart December shopping and why we should all be careful when it comes to this time of the year?

With the  first days of December we all become excited about the following holidays.

Also, December is the month of sharing love and presents to the dear people, in order to make them happy and important.

December traps

I have to admit that I have made a lot of mistakes in the previous years when it comes to buying presents to my family and friends. Yes, I made them happy at the moment, but I am sure that most of my presents have never been used.

However, shiny shop windows, decorated streets, as well as commercials with a big Discount signs are all over us at this time of the year. Sometimes we cannot resist to buy when we are surrounded by Sales banners and other calls for spending our money.

5 things for smart December shopping

  1. Think of your loved ones and what they really need to get from you. If you see that your sister needs a new jacket, buy it for her. It will be a smart spent money because she will use it for a couple of years.
  2. If you belong to a group of people who cannot resist to spend money, simply leave your money and credit cards at home and only take a little bit of money with you, so you can grab a cup of coffee in a shopping mall.
  3. While you walk through your favourite store, look around and check if the things you like are on a sale. If they are on sale, put them on your priority list and come back for it the next day. Let it sleep over, maybe the next day you will not actually need that specific thing. If you still like it, check your budget and you may then think of buying it.
  4. Sometimes you do not even have to get out of your home to face the shopping fever. There are so many commercials on TV that can make you onfused. Think: do you really need a new internet provider or the latest model of mobile phone?
  5. Food is one of the things that people have intention to buy in big quantities. Be careful, because beside spending so much money on unnecessary food you can also face the weight gain! So, try to make a shopping list for holidays and stick to it when you go to the supermarket or a farmer’s market.

Be a smart shopper

December is a month when you look back at the year that is almost gone. Maybe you have made some bad choices in the past, but try not to make them any more. Smart shopping can save a large amount of money in your pocket, and you can still make your friends, family and all dear ones happy.

Prepare low-budget, easy, healthy meals and enjoy spending holidays with your family.

Have a good non-stessed  December! Do not fall for commercial traps!
